Desh Bagley
Founder/CEO, TechPlayzone, Inc STEM Advocate, TEDx Speaker, Director IT/Coding Academy at State College of Florida-Manatee-Sarasota In 2005, when Deshjuana Bagley founded TechPlayzone®, she had no idea that she was introducing a STEM phenomenon of playful learning that would captivate and educate thousands of Florida students and propel her onto the world’s stage. Globally recognized by FIRST® LEGO® League, the largest STEM program for youth, Desh is known for using robotics to build problem-solving and critical thinking skills among students of all ages leading them to majors and careers in STEM. Currently, Desh is using virtual reality tools to continue her mission of helping young people become creative critical thinkers and designers. This includes augmented reality and virtual reality tools and platforms. Desh’s goal is to help develop a highly skilled, innovative, and creative workforce with a variety of viewpoints, cultural identities, and backgrounds. Desh’s visionary leadership is built on the core principles of thinking big, innovative results, and continued learning. Desh graduated from the University of South Florida and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She is married to Daryl Bagley, Sr and they are parents to five young adults who are all involved in STEM. |
TechPlayzone offers science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) workshops for K-12 students in the Tampa Bay Community. Since 2005, TechPlayzone has offered LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Workshops, SCRATCH Game Design Workshops, Steve Spangler Amazing Hands On Science Workshops, and Adobe Green Screen Movie Making Workshops. Recently, App Inventor, Minecraft, Arduino, 3D Modeling, and Web Design classes have been added. TechPlayzone provides the hands-on, hi-tech equipment and curriculum while students bring their creativity and love of learning.
TechPlayzone staffers provide mobile workshops and camps at schools, churches, and homeschool centers throughout the Brandon, Valrico, Fishhawk, and Tampa Bay area.
